They will never truly be better than Japan. All they 'think' they have is the moral ground over them for things done in their separate histories, otherwise Japan dominates them by far. Even in terms of animations, compare most anime against junk like Family Guy - it shows that the average American is retarded to the core and that most of them don't reach an average IQ in intelligence, compared to Japanese citizens in general. So there really is no competition - only that America will always be like "oh, are you going to assist people Hitler again?" or "Oh, will you tell Russia or Putin about the weapons you lent to Ukraine?" and continuously call the Japanese racist from every corner. But its now outdated - Japanese anime for example now show more black people and foreigners than they used to in the days, so the Americans are just stuck in the past at this point.

my ramblings aside, my remark was more just about the fact Japan seems obsessed with their idea of America and the EU.

nah, I put them both in the same box, even if we're looking at higher IQ all i've seen from those who excel in academics is a conforming to institutional indoctrination, a lack of critical thinking so to speak.

As far as anime goes there are quite a handful of american animators that do animation that gets corrected and used for anime.
Mob Psycho and SAO are all that i know of so far
So Americans CAN do it, but the culture is different. Animators on Youtube complain about being cheated revenue after putting in months of work. Also anime work culture isn't really that great, what to expect when you are at the mercy of producers advertisers and other staff, prime example Dragon ball Super and Magical Index III.
